About this tradition
A spring festival in a village hanging above the sea. Sant Marc is celebrated when the marjades are green and the village smells of orange blossom, before the summer tourism arrives.
History & origin
Sant Marc the Evangelist was traditionally invoked to protect crops from spring storms. In a municipality of vertical farming, where one downpour can wash away centuries of dry-stone work, blessing the fields was not symbolic.
How it is celebrated
Mass and the blessing of the fields from the viewpoint. Ball de bot in the square with the local group. It is a small village festival, where taking part is easier than watching.
