About this tradition
The main festival of Santa Maria del Camí, in the middle of July, dedicated to Santa Margalida. Verbenes, correfoc and a week in which the village of the long street does not sleep.
History & origin
Devotion to Santa Margalida in Santa Maria del Camí is linked to the old Minim convent and to the parish. The village, on the royal road, always had an intense social life shaped by passing travellers and trade.
How it is celebrated
Correfoc with dimonis along the long street, verbenes in the plaça Nova, children's games and processó. The village cellers — some now historic restaurants — fill up.
