Campos May Fair

About this tradition

The agricultural and livestock fair of the Mallorcan migjorn. Campos is cattle country — its cheese proves it — and this fair is where the sector measures itself: livestock, machinery and local produce on show in the centre of town.

History & origin

Campos holds much of Mallorca's cattle herd thanks to its flat land and its wells. The fair began as a market for livestock and tools, and has gradually taken in processed produce — cheeses, cured meats, capers — without losing its character as a working fair.

How it is celebrated

Display of Friesian and Mallorcan-breed cows, conformation competition, farm machinery and stalls of local produce. In the afternoon, tastings and cheesemaking demonstrations.
