About this tradition
Llucmajor's patron saint festival, dedicated to Santa Càndida, at the end of summer. A week of events in the plaça Espanya with the town hall behind and the whole town taking part.
History & origin
Santa Càndida has been patron of Llucmajor since the 17th century, when her relics arrived in the town. Devotion always coexisted with the economic weight of the October fairs: if the fires are the business, Santa Càndida is the celebration.
How it is celebrated
Processó of the patron saint, correfoc, verbenes over several nights and popular events in the square. It coincides with the return from the holidays and the last week before term starts.

Associated gastronomy
